In 2009, Primary students were visited by a famous pole vaulter, Ms Monika Pyrek, who is not only the Multiple Polish Champion, but also belongs to the top World Champions. At the beginning we saw a powerpoint presentation and two video clips showing our guest at the Championships. Then P6 pupils brought a pole (4.45m) they had made from paper to demonstrate its real length. At first the interview with the guest was carried out by P5 and P6, however, Ms Pyrek answered in such an interesting and detailed way that other students willingly joined in. They seemed fascinated by the fact that the pole can break or that the vaulter is not afraid of the height. Most probably the number of pole vault fans has increased, which might be reflected during the next Olympic Games. It was a pure pleasure to meet Ms Pyrek.
